In 2026, we’re launching the European Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (EIPIO) – a non-governmental, pan-European professional body focused on standards, ethics, skills and community for intelligence practitioners.

** EIPIO focuses on intelligence as a profession, not as a buzzword. We include roles where people systematically collect, assess and report information using recognised intelligence tradecraft—such as in national security, law enforcement, military, corporate security, and competitive intelligence functions that mirror professional intelligence services in their methods. We exclude fields where “intelligence” mainly refers to software, dashboards, analytics tools, or personal skills—such as business intelligence, artificial intelligence, or emotional intelligence coaching—unless they are embedded in a genuine, structured intelligence function.
